From Chur we went to Innsbruck with multiple stops in the Swiss Alps and in Bregenz a place ewhere the last James Bond movie was filmed along the shore of the Bodensee (Lake Constance). The weather was quite rough but the church and old area abover town (oberstadt) quite nice and one can see the hidden gem Austria offers for european vistors. The country is replete with hiking and camping options and has great fish from the many rivers and lakes. The country also affords a bargain when compared to the ultra ritzy prices of Switzerland and has great food good wine in the form of Vettliner and Sylvaner two dry wines to go along iwith the Riesling which is also typically drier than the german versions. This country is again a meat and potatoes kinda place with salad offering the sole vegetables on many plates. The coffee is strong (too strong by american standards) and the desserts rich. This is not a place to be a vegetarian or to be counting carbs or calories. This is also another dog culture as furry friends are brought to work dinner or walk side by side with the many bicyclists. This is also a hunting and fishing country and where the durndel and lederhosen are still worn by many along with the green hats...
